Frequently Asked Questions
How can an alert be triggered if there is no mobile coverage?
The app regularly sends your position to angexis.com.
The web site has a monitoring role and checks that you move regularly.
It triggers an alert if it does not receive any move for a period of time.
Doesn't it use too much battery?
The GPS consumes a lot of power and the network communications as well.
If you get out for 4 to 5 hours with a full battery, you shouldn't experience any problem though. Give it a try.
Can my friends be warned with a text message?
Yes.
This feature is available since version 2.0
Is there an iPhone version?
No, and we are sorry about it: the terms for iOS development are more restrictive than those of Android. It is not legal to write Angexis Outdoor on iPhone. Here is a quote of the restriction:
3.3.12 For Applications that use location-based APIs or otherwise provide location-based services, such Applications may not be designed or marketed for automatic or autonomous control of vehicles, aircraft, or other mechanical devices; dispatch or fleet management; or emergency or life-saving purposes
